Meet Rhys Stephenson

Popping and locking, but make it ballroom.

London-born Rhys is a natural on screen, but how will he fare on the dancefloor?

When I got the CBBC gig my friends were so excited, but with Strictly it is next level.

He's accustomed to taking centre stage, having kicked off his acting and performance career at the age of 10 in various school productions. In 2013 Rhys joined the National Youth Theatre, leading him to star in exciting shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, Sydenham Arts Festival and Stratford East Theatre to name a few. But TV presenting came calling in 2013, when Rhys began appearing on his university's own channel - he even won a NaSTA award (National Student Television Association) for his work in front of the camera!

Rhys has since cemented himself as a key presenter for CBBC, hosting the likes of Blue Peter, Newsround, Dengineers and Saturday Mash-Up. He's also presented online content for BAFTA Kids, and hosted live events such as the Blue Peter Book Awards and the CBBC Summer Social.

Now his next career challenge comes in the form of Strictly and he's received a wave of support already. He said. 'I've had so many messages from friends, my mum is over the moon, my sisters physically jumped on me. They were all so excited."

Good luck out there Rhys!
