Jackie Tyler was a whirlwind of a woman, fiercely protective of her daughter and initially at least, very mistrustful of the Doctor. She blamed him for Rose’s so-called disappearance, even slapping the Time Lord when he eventually turned up on the Powell Estate after months away. But the softer side of Jackie Tyler never died. She missed her late husband, Pete, and admitted she found her daughter’s new life difficult to cope with.

She eventually became close to the Doctor, insisting she gave him a big kiss when he returned to Earth just before the Cyberman/Dalek conflict! And Jackie found happiness again when she met the alternate universe’s version of Pete Tyler. They quickly fell for one another and even had a baby boy together: Tony.
