Meet Nina Wadia

This 80s girl is ready for some glitter!

Welcome British TV legend Nina Wadia to the Strictly family for 2021!

From soaps to sketch shows, Nina's been a familiar face on our screens for decades, rising to fame in Goodness Gracious Me back in 1998. The show ran for three series, exploring South Asian culture in Britain via side-splitting comedy. She soon become a household name, going on to star in hit shows Perfect World, Chambers, All About Me, Still Open All Hours, Doctor Who, New Tricks and Skins to name just a few.

Fans will also recognise Nina for her six-year stint in EastEnders as Zainab Masood, which won her two 2009 British Soap Awards. More recently she's appeared in Death In Paradise, ITV mini-series Too Close, Disney's Aladdin, and upcoming Netflix drama The Sandman. Not to mention her presenting prowess as a host on The One Show, Remembrance Day Ceremonies and Sunday Morning Live.

But now it's time for Nina to step into the role of ballroom dancer and she wants a great pro co-star to put her through her paces! "I need someone who's fun and who's going to make learning fun and make dancing fun. That's what I care about," she said. "I need someone who is going to be a bit strict, because I might slack off if I get the chance."

Trust us Nina, you're going to need those training tea breaks!
