Tom Fletcher

There isn't much the multi-talented Tom Fletcher hasn't turned his hand to, but now we're about to find out if he'll be adding ballroom dancer to the list!

Best known for his rise to fame as part of pop rock band McFly, Tom initially started his performance career on stage, starring in West End shows such as Oliver!. This led him to audition for a new band while still in his teenage years, joining Busted for a full two days before being told they were to continue as a three piece without him! However, he stayed close by as a songwriter for the band, and the rest as they say is history.

It was during this time he met soon-to-be McFly bandmates Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd (who would later become a Strictly champion!), going on to find huge success as one of Britain's biggest ever bands. Together they've sold over 10 million singles, released six albums and toured 14 times during their 17 years together, in addition to Tom's two tours as part of supergroup McBusted. Fun fact: McFly's track 'Star Girl' has even been blasted into space by NASA!

On top of his huge success in music, Tom has been a hit children's author since 2012, releasing a series of 'The Dinosaur that Pooped...' books with bandmate Dougie Poynter. He's also released his 'The Christmasaurus' series of solo books, and has written a trilogy of Young Adult novels with wife Giovanna Fletcher.

On top of all of this, Tom is dad to three boys - Buzz, Buddy and Max - who are a big part of the reason he signed up for the show! "My son Buzz was the deciding factor for me, he’s really got into the show over the last couple of years, he especially loved Chris Ramsay in it and Jamie Laing," he said. "Staying up on a Saturday night for it has become our thing and he’s at an age where that’s really exciting for him. So when the call came through he was at the forefront of my mind."

Just like Buzz, we'll be cheering Tom on all the way!
