Alan Lindsay
To success-driven builder Alan, power isn’t everything – it’s the only thing.
To success-driven builder Alan, power isn’t everything – it’s the only thing.
From a young age, Alan has worked solidly and gained a reputation as hard-working, reliable and trustworthy. But all that changed thanks to a dodgy deal with corrupt Councillor, Frank Paton and businessman Alex McAllister.
As corruption surrounded, Alan grew increasingly troubled, all too aware he was out of his depth. When the truth about the land regeneration project was unveiled Alan’s reputation took a bashing which hurt him deeply.
Alan’s often joyless nature means that while he stays busy, he has few friends. Above all else, his marital meltdown from estranged wife, Rhona, has taken its toll on him and he’s fuelled by bitterness and regret.
Alan’s goal in life is to create a prosperous, successful family and in doing so, happiness will surely follow. But being a sole parent isn’t proving easy. While Angus is no bother, Alan doesn’t know how best to cope with teenage daughter Kirsty.
Rhona’s arrival in Shieldinch stirred up a myriad of emotions in Alan. While he resented her abandonment of their family, he still loves her deeply. However, Alan’s hopes of reconciliation were dashed when Rhona asked for a divorce.
Alan deals with his loss by going into discipline mode – if he keeps everything on the straight and narrow, all will be well. If only life were that simple.
