"You’re definitely hardest on the people you love and those who are closest to you and Francis has difficulty in accepting the love between Ross and Elizabeth which is responsible for a lot of his really awful behaviour in the first series.

"He has his own other insecurities that come into play but the big turning point for Francis is accepting Elizabeth’s feelings and the fact that there is this woman who might be in love with someone else."
