Stephen Nolan is from the Shankill Road area of Belfast and went to school at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. Stephen dreamed of being on the radio but faced a huge amount of rejection trying to get into the industry. He finally got his big break at Belfast City Beat where he became an award-winning host.
From 2003 Stephen started working for BBC Radio Ulster and soon after began presenting his own weekend phone-in show for BBC Radio Five Live. He has presented several television programmes for the BBC including Nolan Live and BBC Children in Need.
Today, Nolan presents up to 9 radio shows a week and over 30 television programmes a year. He has his own production company, Stephen Nolan Broadcasting LTD and in total has won twelve Sony Radio Academy Awards, seven of which are gold.
