The Shopping Centre secret

For years, there has been a rumour buried deep within Telford Shopping Centre: a rock so vast that the building had to be constructed around it. It sounds unbelievable, the stuff of local legend, but beneath the feet of thousands of shoppers sits a massive rock, which was once visible behind the former Sainsbury’s loading bay.
BBC Radio Shropshire’s Clare Ashford met up with Telford historian Steve Bowers and centre manager Glynn Morrow to explore a hidden room, and the rock at the heart of the shopping centre.
