Worcestershire pub's pies 'among best in country'

The Fleece at Bretforton scooped two top prizes with its highly praised pastries at the British Pie Awards in Melton Mowbray.

Nigel Smith tells Jonathan Ray how the pub in the Vale of Evesham is no stranger to picking up bronzes and silvers, but the accolades in 2026 mark the first time they're brought home two prizes at the 'Pie Olympics'.

The commended creations were the steak and ale pie, alongside a newer creation, a chicken, leek and pea pie.
