‘Contaminated Droitwich diesel cost us thousands’
Customers at a Sainsbury’s garage found contaminated fuel in their cars after filling up in February 2026 - where the diesel had water in the system.
James Gooding from Tibberton filled up his car from the pumps on the Worcester Road and told the BBC the incident had cost him over £1,000 after his car broke down.
Mirren Brewer said the £40 of diesel she put in her car ended up costing her £500 in repairs.
Sainsbury’s have since apologised to those affected by the contaminated fuel.
Gavin Kermack reports.
