Remembering the real Tommy

A new ITV drama is revisiting the case of Jane Andrews, the former royal dresser who was convicted in 2001 of murdering her partner, Thomas Cressman.

Andrews, who previously worked for the Duchess of York at Buckingham Palace, was found guilty of killing Mr Cressman at his home in London in September 2000. The case has remained in the public spotlight for more than two decades, inspiring documentaries and fictionalised retellings.

The latest dramatisation, The Lady, comes from the team behind The Crown and once again places the events back into public conversation.

But for the Cressman family in Warwickshire, the renewed interest is a reminder that behind the headlines was a much‑loved son and brother. Rick Cressman says Tommy’s life was more than a story on screen and the impact of the tragedy has never left them. They spoke to BBC CWR presenter, Vic Minett.
