‘Miracle baby’ born after ambulance crashed

During Cheryl Kurian and Levin Anto's transfer from Kington to Hereford, their ambulance was involved in a collision with a car.

Baby Ervin was born safely after the family was transferred, but after a premature birth at 32 weeks, is still spending time in the Hereford County Hospital neo-natal unit.

Cheryl tells Elliott Webb how additional ambulances were sent to help her complete her journey.

In a statement, Elaine Evans, the Special Care Baby Unit ward manager at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said: "After a difficult journey to the hospital, our maternity staff helped put them at ease and prepared them for the safe arrival of their baby, Erwin. Erwin was born prematurely and is therefore receiving additional care on our Special Care Baby Unit from our dedicated team of neonatal healthcare professionals.”
