Cabbie Karen Teale: ‘The cab is my confession box’
This lively Listed Londoner tells Robert why her passengers are so keen on opening up.
Karen Teale, otherwise known as Cabbie Karen, has been in the trade for more than 15 years.
Growing up her parents ran a pub just off the Caledonian Road, which was often frequented by a group of cabbies, and that sense of community was what inspired her to take the knowledge herself.
In the last few years she’s turned her attention to tour guiding alongside cabbing. She’s a north London girl through and through continues to call The Cally her home to this day.
Cabbie Karen reveals her favourite haunts, memories, pet hates and everything in between with Robert Elms.
