Revealed: Future for Cambs most famous tank engine
Thomas the Tank Engine, is going back to his roots with a new look that will get fans of the original stop motion TV series very excited.
The Reverend W Awdry wrote the first book in The Railway Series in 1945.
A year later became rector at Holy Trinity Church in Elsworth, Cambridgeshire, where he wrote more of his books about the engine.
Reverend Awdry remained rector in Elsworth until 1952 when he moved to Emneth on the Norfolk / Cambridgeshire border.
Mark Chambers is the grandson of the Reverend Wilbert Awdry. He spoke to Louise Hulland about the past, and future, of Thomas.
