Moorland Pottery boss on anniversary of Royal Stafford closure
Jon Plant, Moorland Pottery, talks to Lee Blakeman on the state of the ceramic industry. Royal Stafford went into liquidation in February 2025, sparking a turbulent year for the ceramics industry in Stoke-on-Trent which saw several companies go bust, with the loss of dozens of job, and protests and pressure put on the government to help firms with their spiralling energy bills. Royal Stafford was later saved by Cornishware manufacturer TG Green, who have since opened a new shop in Burslem.
