Action Man’s left-handed grip of destiny

The 30th of January is a very special birthday for one of the 1970s most loved toys – produced and made in Coalville. Action Man is 60 years old!

Bob Brechin joined Coalville’s Palitoy factory in the late 60s. Little did he know he’d be working to create a British icon – especially with his left hand!

At the former factory site, Bob met BBC Leicester's Ben Jackson and Stuart Warburton from the Coalville Heritage Society, to tell his story.
