New Workington pilot boat
Helvellyn is the Port's replacement for the 32 year old Derwent which is being retired. Part of a £1m investment by Cumberland Council in the port, which handles 300,000 tonnes of cargo each year. The pilot's job is to help ships safely dock in the harbour, and the pilot boat is like a taxi that takes them out to the vessel at sea. Photo - Cumberland Council
