The fallout from Jenrick's defection
Newark became the centre of the British political universe on Thursday, as Robert Jenrick was sacked as a Conservative MP by Kemi Badenoch after she accused him of planning to defect. Later in the day, he did indeed defect to Reform.
The BBC's David Pittam went to Newark to find out what his constituents think, and Conservative Councillor Sam Smith, the leader of the Opposition at Nottinghamshire County Council, joined Summaya to share his perspective.
