Fuzzbox remain the country's biggest-selling girl group who played instruments. The legacy left by the Moseley, Acocks Green and Sheldon musicians remains 40 years on since their debut single.

Known for their big hair and even bigger riffs, co-founder Vix Perks tells Nina Das Gupta how the group made a huge impact in the 1980s, becoming trailblazers for young female rockers across the nation.

A first authorised biography, We Had A Fuzzbox... And We Used It, tells the story in a true scrapbook format of this pioneering band, with features from notable artists including members of UB40, The Specials, and a forward from Janice Connolly aka Barbara Nice.
