Floods in Leicestershire: Will 2026 be different?
January 2024 and 2025 saw dramatic rainfall. Some areas are still recovering. Could it happen again?
Flood hit communities in Leicestershire say they are anxiously checking the forecast. Nearly 900 properties were damaged in the county during the flash storms last year, some of those had been hit 12 months prior.
But a so-called Section 19 report, which will identify the causes of the flooding and weak points in the defence network, may not arrive until July this year.
