Ralph Thorseby was a 16th century antiquarian, born in Leeds.
President of The Thoresby Society, Chris Hindle joins Gayle Lofthouse to chat about the life of Ralph Thorseby, who is widely credited as being the first historian in the city and even setup his own museum.
The Thoresby Society was founded in 1889 as the principal historical society for Leeds and district. It seeks to promote interest, encourage research, and to collect and make available books, documents and other material for this purpose.
