Memoirs of a 'Mad Monk'
Tributes are being paid in memory of legendary BBC Essex broadcaster Dave Monk. He passed away on Wednesday following a cancer diagnosis. Dave Monk is a familiar voice for thousands of BBC Essex listeners, where he presented shows for 37 years. Before joining in 1986, Dave had worked in his parents pub, qualified as lawyer and in the 1970s, Dave moonlighted as mobile music DJ Dave ('The Mad') Monk.
Throughout nearly four decades of broadcasting, Dave was part of many historic moments, a number of which Dave has enjoyed reminiscing about in his memoirs 'Whatever Happened to Dave Monk'.
One of Dave's favourite memories is from 1991, where he found himself inside a very royal toilet on the QEII Bridge...
