Gangs posing as truckers to steal lorryloads of goods
A BBC investigation has been looking into one gang suspected of stealing a load worth more than £70k.
A BBC investigation has discovered that organised gangs are using fraudulent methods to steal cargo from lorries across the UK. One tactic criminals are using is to buy legitimate haulage companies, pick up loads for delivery, and then vanish with the contents. In total, last year thieves stole more than one hundred and ten million pounds worth of goods from lorries.
Elizabeth Glinka, a journalist at BBC News, has been out with Northamptonshire Police who’re targeting gangs suspected of stealing valuable loads from lorries parked up overnight.
