Emma Freud is joined by Charlotte Martin, who plays Susan Carter, and scriptwriter Sarah Hehir, who previously taught in a Young Offender Institution. They discuss the struggles faced by George Grundy after his time in prison, and whether he's haunted by his ancestors' criminal pasts.

We revisit the shocking car crash his stepdad Ed caused, and travel even further back to Susan's own release from prison to see how this affected her and her family - and shaped attitudes which persist to the present.
