North Tyneside proposed school closure
A middle school could be closed and six primary and first schools could merge to become just three in the borough.
The council says the proposals would tackle falling pupil numbers due to ever decreasing birth rates.
It says by 2034 the number of school age children will have fallen by almost three thousand, a drop of more than ten percent and most of its schools will be running at a deficit if things stay as they are.
Alison Freeman has been following the story for us and has more on the plans.
