North East access to mental health support is changing
From today the way people across the North East can access mental health support is changing.
Our region’s NHS mental health crisis lines are being replaced. Previously there were 0800 numbers for Newcastle and Gateshead, North Tyneside and Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
Instead - a 24/7 mental health service is now up-and-running via NHS 111.
We thought it was important to get the details of these changes and how it will work.
Victoria Malone is Associate Director of the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.
