Focusing on the health of our fishing communities

Deb Johnston, Danielle Murray, and Brian Chambers all play a major part in the C Aware Programme.

It's their mission to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer, and to promote screening - with a focus on North Shields' longstanding fishing community.

Brian himself has been impacted massively by cancer, as the BRCA 1 gene runs through his family - he's lost a lot of family to the disease and had to face it himself.
