Leicester team hopes to find life under sea bed
Researchers from the University of Leicester are hoping to discover if there's life under the sea bed on a 90 day expedition to the USA.
Dr Andrew McIntyre, from the school of Geography, Geology and the Environment at the University of Leicester, will be joining the international crew of the science vessel, departing next Saturday.
The aim is to collect samples in an ambitious first attempt at collecting ancient water found more than 500 metres below the sea floor, to provide direct evidence that this freshwater exists and to uncover how and when the water was emplaced up to 100 miles offshore.
Dr Andrew McIntyre spoke to BBC Leicester's Ady Dayman.
