Ben Elton backs Droitwich's Rik Mayall Festival
The comedian has thrown his weight behind the forthcoming comedy festival, in honour of the West Midlands comedy legend.
Rik Mayall died in 2014, aged 56, a life 'unfinished' according to long-time friend and collaborator, Ben Elton.
The pair met whilst studying at Manchester University and went on to work on BBC comedy The Young Ones.
Mr Elton said he missed his friend dearly and would support any event in his name.
Mayall starred in BBC comedies including Bottom, Blackadder, Kevin Turvey, Comic Strip Presents and The New Statesman.
Ben Elton is embarking on tour through August, September, October and November 2024.
