The half century search for Muriel McKay
In late 1969 Muriel McKay was abducted and held to ransom for £1m at Stocking Farm, near Bishop’s Stortford, by a pair who had mistaken her for Rupert Murdoch’s then wife, Anna.
They would go on to be convicted for her murder and kidnap, but her body has never been found – despite several searches.
As police begin what they say will be their final search of the farm – where she is believed to have died - Louise Parry looks back on a case that has left her family searching for answers for over 50 years.
