East Runton sewage spill: ‘It’s quite concerning’
Dog walkers, swimmers and surfers were warned to avoid areas of East Runton beach after a sewage spill there.
What impact will this have on beach users long term? Edd Smith went down to the beach to find out.
An Anglian Water spokesperson said:
"We have been assisting the Environment Agency in identifying the source of a discharge on East Runton beach.
"Our investigations found a minor sewer collapse and blockage on Felbrigg Road, further upstream. All of our tests have shown that this has had no impact onto the beach itself. The blockage has been cleared, and our teams repaired the pipe last night. Further investigations to identify the source will continue today”
