Why is Haughley junction so important?
There have been fresh calls for upgrades to two rail junctions connecting East Anglia.
Campaigning for improvements to the intersections at Ely and Haughley, near Stowmarket, has been ongoing for almost 15 years.
Business leaders have now met with Labour’s shadow transport secretary to make their case.
The Department for Transport told the BBC: “We are committed to delivering the upgrades.
“Network Rail has developed both schemes to outline business case stage and we will set out next steps soon on further investment for it development and delivery.”
BBC East political editor Andrew Sinclair explains why these junctions are seen as so important.
