Southend MP statue unveiled
A statue in memory of the late Southend MP Sir David Amess has been unveiled on Chalkwell seafront. Sir David served as a Southend West MP when he was fatally stabbed in Leigh-on-Sea in October 2021.
The statue was designed by sculptor Andrew Lilley, who explained why he decided to take on the project before any funds had been raised.
