Sunak: Lincolnshire transport money 'is new'

The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak says Lincolnshire will receive more than a quarter of a billion pounds to spend on the county's roads and public transport.

He says the £262m over seven years will come from the budget for the scrapped Northern leg of the HS2 rail project.

However, Cllr Richard Davies, the highways portfolio holder for highways at Lincolnshire county council, welcomed the funding but said it would cost £400m to repair all of the county's roads, and that it comes after the government cut Lincolnshire's roads funding by 25% three years ago.
