Was the Larne Gun-Running Justified?

Tim McGarry and David Hume take a look at the Larne gun-running incident of 1914 and ask: was it justified?

Tim and David travel back to the year 1914 to tell the story of the Larne gun-running incident. They ask the question: was it justified?

The Larne gun-running of 1914 was carried out by loyalists who were opposed to home rule in Ireland. It was a major gun smuggling operation involving the importation of up to 25,000 rifles from Germany into Ulster. The weapons were used to arm the UVF.

Tim and David go on a no-expenses-spared trip to Larne to tell the story of the Ulster loyalists who were prepared to take up armed rebellion against their own British government. It is a tale of intrigue, espionage, insurrection and even treason that was only prevented with the coming of World War I.
