Not the right time for leadership change, says Clacton MP
MPs have agreed to open a parliamentary investigation into whether Boris Johnson lied to the House of Commons about parties at Downing Street during lockdown.
The measure passed without a formal vote, because no-one on the government benches shouted "no" to Labour's motion. It comes after Number 10 pulled a plan to delay the vote.
Giles Watling, the Conservative MP for Clacton, tells BBC Essex that if Boris Johnson deliberately misled Parliament then he has to go, but adds that now is not the right time for a leadership change.
