Highlights: Bromsgrove Folk Festival

This was the 28th annual festival, organised by the team behind the Bromsgrove Folk Club, and took place at The Bowling Green on Shaw Lane in Stoke Prior.

The team usually meet on the second and last Thursday of every month at the Catshill Club and say: "We pride ourselves on booking artists who entertain".

As well as hosting live music, the festival also had a ukulele workshop, dance demonstrations and The World Dry Foam Flinging Championships.

19 - 21 July: Upton Blues Festival

This event has grown each year and is now one of the largest free-admission festivals in the region.

Upton Blues has grown from a small gathering in a couple of pubs into a event that swamps the town with many thousands of music fans, two main stages, an acoustic stage and ten pubs creating more than 130 performances in three days.

Following independent research commissioned by Malvern Hills District Council, the festival is said to contribute more than £800,000 to the local economy every year.

Highlights: Orchard Fest, Bromsgrove

A music festival, in memory of a loving mum, returned to Bromsgrove last weekend.

'Puddle Party presents Orchard Fest' raised funds for the Primrose and St Richard’s Hospices.

It's took place at Puddle Wharf Farm on the Redditch Road.

Dave Morgan launched the festival in memory of his wife Trish who passed away in 2011 from a brain tumour.

Before she died, she was eager to raise funds for the Primrose Hospice for the help it gave her - and the first event took place in 2016.

Glastonbury highlights: Years and Years

Performing on the Pyramid stage was Olly Alexander and his band Years and Years - who have previously topped the BBC Music Sound Of list.

Olly studied at Hereford College Of Arts and became the band's lead singer after meeting at a house party and was overheard singing in the shower!

BBC Music at LakeFest, Eastnor Castle

Lakefest returns to Eastnor Deer Park in August this year and will be guaranteed to be even bigger and better than ever.

Kaiser Chiefs, Happy Mondays, The Pigeon Detectives, James and Sophie Ellis-Bextor are all on the line-up.

BBC Hereford & Worcester will also have a tent at the festival, showcasing local talent from Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
