Katherine Brunt

Katherine Brunt reveals how she overcame school bullies on her road to professional cricket.

Star bowler Katherine reveals how she faced school bullies and suffered with low self-esteem on her journey to becoming one of the best cricketers in the world.

A three-time World Cup and Ashes series winner, she’s one of the country’s most decorated players. Inspired by her older brothers and her Dad, she discovered a passion for bowling when she joined Barnsley CC at a young age.

In this series, Katherine opens up about the bullying she faced at school and how battling with her weight left her unable to imagine a professional cricket career. She reveals how she fought through these issues to make it into the England squad, and shares the amazing experiences she has had through dedicating her life to the sport.

Katherine is now England’s longest-serving player. She made her debut in 2004, ten years before the game turned professional and at a time when players still had to pay for their England kit! She is a game changer, an inspiration within and outside of her sport, and she’s not done yet. This summer it’s the Ashes, and she’ll be hoping to help her teammates win them back.
