It's National Coming Out Day and Kate's got some crucial tips if you're thinking of revealing your own sexuality or gender identity, based on her own coming out experience. She's also got some straight talking advice for friends and family on how to offer the best support throughout what can often be a petrifying time! Never ask them 'are you sure?' always take the time to listen and don't interject, never put pressure on a person, do your research to avoid an awkward situation and if it changes nothing about your relationship with the person, let them know!
