Upton Festival Highlights: Status Quo

We catch up with Status Quo bassist John Edwards, who performed at the Upton Festival during the bank holiday weekend.
Edwards, who's also played with Judie Tzuke, Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac and Dexy's Midnight Runners, talks about how he accidentally ended up in one of Britain's biggest rock bands.
In this interview, he talks about his relationship with Rick Parfitt, who died in 2016.

Alan McGee

This week, we continue our series with one of Hay-on-Wye's most prolific hit-makers.
Alan McGee was the founding father of Creation Records, responsible for signing bands such as Oasis, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and The Libertines.
Alan was also behind a club night which saw appearances from The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Kasabian and The Darkness.
He's just launched a brand new record label called Creation23.

Highlights: Morton Stanley Festival, Redditch

This week, we catch up with more members of Hazel O'Connor's band - who performed at the Morton Stanley Festival in Redditch.
Sarah Fisher, who plays piano, was originally applying for a job with Marks & Spencer when she was suddenly invited to audition for the Eurythmics.

BBC Music Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival

It's been dubbed as Worcester's version of SXSW in Texas!
Taking place in multiple venues across the city, from pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes to historic buildings, river cruisers, record shops, on the streets and even in breweries, the festival is absolutely free to attend with hundreds of gigs to choose from from some of the best, new and emerging artists in the UK.
Each year the festival raises money for a chosen local charity. This year the Worcestershire Association of Carers will receive all the money dropped into buckets at the festival's venues across the weekend.
On Sunday, 16 September, we'll be showcasing House of Wolvxs, Bryn Teeling & The River Thieves, Flex, Stone Mountain Sinners and Mitch Loveridge at Drummonds from 2pm.
