Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert in the live room for Lauren Laverne

Scottish collaborators, Aiden Moffat (formerly of Arab Strap) and RM Hubbert joined Lauren Laverne in the live room

Lauren is joined in the live room by Scottish collaborators Aidan Moffat (formerly of Arab Strap) and RM Hubbert, their new album, Here Lies The Body came out earlier this year. They also kindly brought along with them singer Siobhan Wilson.

They talk about how the album came together as an organic process which involved everyone who is signed to Rock Action Records - as Aidan puts it "a D-List celebrity story" - They also talk about how, in the liner notes they added a screenplay featuring the main characters of the album, it was Aidan's dream as a child to get into storytelling.

The album, out on Mogwai's Rock Action Records, has a dual meaning according to Aidan, "Sex and death. It can be read as romantic surrender, but of course it's also a phrase you'll find on a tombstone."

Moffat and Hubbert met many years ago and their first collaboration, Car Song, was released in 2012 on Hubbert's Thirteen Lost And Found album, which went on to win the Scottish Album of the Year Award - only a year after Moffat won the same award for his work with Bill Wells.
