Elgar's archives to be moved to London

It's been announced, this week, that the Elgar Archives - the collection dedicated to the Worcestershire-born composer - is to be moved out of the county and into London.
The Elgar Foundation says it's taken the decision because the British Library will be better able to promote Edward Elgar's life and work all over the world.
The group says it was largely down to a lack of financial resources to maintain a modern archive.
The 15,000-strong collection were first left with the county record office in 1966 by his daughter and then transferred to the newly-refurbished Birthplace Museum in 2002.

In session

Chloe Ferguson is a 25-year-old songwriter from Wales, who now lives in Stourport after her parents relocated to the town.
Chloe, who was home-schooled, wrote her first song when she was just five-years-old.
She says: "I'm an ex-introvert and can only confront people in songs," but she's done modelling and acting since.
Her influences include Coldplay, Maroon 5, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Christina Perri, Vanessa Carlton and Katy Perry - and goes under the name of TheCFShow.
“A beautiful and haunting voice that just draws you in" - Andrew Marston.

The event brought together leading local arts, educational groups and an array of internationally renowned guests playing the music of one of our leading lights.
The festival was actually established by decree of Worcester City Council last year and took place in various venues across the city, including the cathedral.

BBC Music Introducing at the Hay Festival

It's a pick 'n' mix shop that straddles the Herefordshire-Wales border and swells the population of Hay-on-Wye early each summer.
We were there, once again, with some of our favourite handpicked musicians from Herefordshire & Worcestershire, recording four sessions for broadcast.

21 - 24 June: The Upton Jazz Festival

The 33rd Upton Jazz Festival returns in 2018 promising a variety of musical performance across the town.
However, this year, it's only taking place in the pubs because of a lack of volunteers.
Instead, organisers promise improved camping, a bigger choice of stalls, food and drink, plus free car parking.
