'Cook should play at three, or not at all' - Nick Compton

Former England international Nick Compton believes the team’s former captain Alastair Cook should bat at number three "or not at all” as the players brace themselves for Tuesday's Test squad announcement.

Cook struggled for batting form over the winter but recorded a huge 244 not-out against Australia at the end of December.

England’s first Test of the summer against Pakistan begins on May 24 and will be newly appointed national selector Ed Smith’s first squad.
