Weinstein lawyer claims accusers are ‘not telling the truth’
Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer Benjamin Brafman has told BBC Radio 5 live that he believes the case against the former film producer is “legally defective or factually not supported”.
In his first broadcast interview in the UK, Mr Brafman accused “some of the more vocal critics of Harvey Weinstein” of “just not telling the truth”.
Speaking to 5 live’s Clare McDonnell, Mr Brafman claimed the emails between Weinstein and some of his accusers were “breathtaking in scope and [would] substantially undermine the credibility of the claim that twenty years ago Harvey Weinstein raped them”.
He feared Mr Weinstein – now “lonely and angry” - would be unable “to get a fair trial”.
