Klopp is a modern-day version of Shankly – Lawrenson

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson says Jurgen Klopp resembles Bill Shankly in terms of his understanding and connection with the club.

Klopp has guided Liverpool into the Champions League final with a 7-6 aggregate victory over Roma.

And Lawrenson, who won the European Cup with Liverpool in 1984, says Klopp “seriously understands Liverpool’s history and supporters”.
