J to Z showcases the best in jazz past, present and future, and offers an easy starting point for those who want to find out more about jazz, whether a regular listener or new to the music. Each week the show features the best tracks, new and old, as well as specially recorded music: live sessions in studio at Broadcasting House and exclusive recordings of the best concerts in the UK and Europe. Every few weeks J to Z goes on the road with its own specially curated shows around the country.
In a short feature each week, jazz musicians break down influential recordings to zoom in on the drum break, the chord sequence or the trumpet solo that changed the way they approach their own music.
