In session

Worcester-based rock quartet Fights & Fires have played across Europe more than 40 times since forming in 2008.
Vocalist Philip Cox trained to be a professional wrestler before falling victim to the tour bug.
Guitarist Ryan Price is an unreserved roller coaster fanatic, having watched every single roller coaster video on YouTube.
Drummer Lee Jackson is a hedgehog owning, lower league football lunatic, following his team all over the UK.
Bassist Philip Cook has built himself an impressive CV, taking lower league teams to European glory...on Football Manager.
With a love for Star Wars, professional wrestling and super heroes, Fights & Fires, offstage, look more at home in your local comic book store, than at a punk rock show, but, come stage time, that all changes.

A popular Worcestershire music festival has started to release its line up, for this year, with artists such as Soul II Soul and Toploader on the bill.
2018's Mello Festival, which was previously held at Throckmorton Airfield, will take place on a brand new site - Severn End Country Estate in Hanley Castle.
Livin' Joy, The Christians and Toyah Wilcox are amongst other artists set to appear.

BBC Music Introducing at Winter Jazzfest

For the first time, BBC Music Introducing and PRS Foundation have teamed up to showcase new UK music at Winter Jazzfest 2018.
The festival, based in New York, was originally created to present the latest and most cutting edge of jazz acts, and has become one of the genre's most definitive events.
This week, we hear the highlights and find out how the PRS is helping musicians play abroad.

BBC Music Introducing in Bromsgrove

This month's sessions were recorded at the Artrix in Bromsgrove.
The centre is not just an award winning place to see live music in Bromsgrove, but it also hosts live screenings, comedy, theatre, dance, visual arts and film - and to give you an insight into the sheer amount of choice it provides to Bromsgrove and the surrounding towns, earlier in the day it hosted a Baby Rave - where Cbeebies meets '90s dance!
Last year, they were awarded Worcestershire's Best Theatre Venue and welcomed more than 27,000 visitors to their 300-seat auditorium, studio space, cafe, meeting rooms, play area and galleries.

Musicians' Masterclass

Marking 10 years of BBC Music Introducing, Amplify was the first show of its kind in the UK and a must-attend event for all musicians and anyone looking for a career in music.
It was the biggest new music business gathering to ever to be held in the UK, with more than 100 sessions and 250 speakers ensuring every aspect of the music business was covered.
Held across three days, Amplify offered exclusive access to the UK music industry’s biggest names through intimate talks, music masterclasses and recording workshops.
This week, we get top tips from both the drummer and manager of The Libertines on not only making that initial impact, but how to do it the second time around.

Track of the Week

Sam Clines is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from Worcester who plays an electric guitar and a kick drum.
He describes his music as "eerie indie which branches off into elements of jazz and soul" with influences such as Ben Howard, Foals and Amy Winehouse.
"I've been making music ever since my parents dragged me to my first piano lesson at the age of 8 and I've been playing ever since.
"I picked up the guitar when I was 16 and started writing and falling in love with 60s and 70s music".
"Ben Sidwell of BBC Midlands Today poked his head around my door and said “you’re going to love this artist” and he wasn’t wrong! Beautifully intricate melodies awash with magical effects delivered with a stunning live show." - Andrew Marston
