Van Dijk is good, but not worth £75m - Shearer

Alan Shearer believes Liverpool have paid over the odds for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.

The Dutch international will join the Merseyside club when the transfer window re-opens on 1 January in a world record £75m deal.

Former England captain Shearer says Liverpool have had to pay so much because “they’re desperate for a centre-half”.
