Reading FC: Mannone talks about his tough week
The Reading goalkeeper Vito Mannone explains why he had to return to Italy suddenly.
Mannone returned to the Royals' starting line-up against Sheffield Wednesday after missing last week's game against Bolton.
"It was very tough," Mannone told BBC Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "I haven't said anything so far, but my mum had a stroke.
"On Tuesday I received the bad news and I had to rush home, and it's been very tough."
But, despite the news, Mannone wanted to focus on how his side performed in their 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
"We wanted the three points and we searched for a goal.
"I thought we played well, we kept positive, we kept patient, because they were closing the gaps at the back."
