After decades in the planning - work on Gloucester's King's Quarter development could start next year. Gloucester City Council has taken back ownership of the multi-million pound project after developer Stanhope pulled out of a deal last year.
A business plan for the development is expected to be approved by councillors at a meeting tomorrow. Plans include flats, a hotel, bars and restaurants with King's Square remaining as an open space. The authority hopes to submit a planning application by next summer, with work beginning by the end of 2018.
